An Act to make Better Provision with respect to the Manufacture of Spirits for Industrial and other Purposes.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Distillation Amendment Act, 1918, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Distillation Act, 1908.
2 Regulations may be made as to the distillation of spirits for industrial, scientific, and other purposes.
(1.)
The Governor-General in Council may make regulations authorizing, regulating, restricting, or otherwise relating to the distillation or manufacture of spirits for industrial or scientific purposes, or for other purposes after being methylated or otherwise denatured, and the storage, sale, disposition, or use of spirits so distilled or manufactured.
(2.)
Such regulations may impose such charges, fees, fines, and pecuniary penalties as the Governor-General in Council thinks fit.
(3.)
No such regulations shall be invalid because of any repugnancy to the Distillation Act, 1908.
(4.)
The provisions of the Distillation Act, 1908, shall have no application to spirits distilled or manufactured under the authority of regulations made under this Act, except so far as such regulations otherwise provide.
