An Act to amend the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Amendment Act, 1919, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Power to abolish Bay of Islands Board.
The Governor-General may, by Order in Council, abolish the Bay of Islands Hospital District constituted by the principal Act as on and from a date to be appointed in such Order.
3 Upon abolition of Bay of Islands Board four new districts and Boards constituted.
Upon the date so appointed—
(a.)
The members of the Bay of Islands Hospital and Charitable Aid Board then in office shall go out of office:

Four new hospital districts and four new Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards under the principal Act shall be deemed to be constituted—namely, the Bay of Islands County, of which the Bay of Islands County Council shall be the Board; the Mongonui County, of which the Mongonui County Council shall be the Board; the Whangaroa County, of which the Whangaroa County Council shall be the Board; and the Hokianga County, of which the Hokianga County Council shall be the Board.
4 Apportionment of assets and liabilities.
The Governor-General may, by Order in Council, determine what part of the property, contracts, debts, and liabilities of the Bay of Islands Hospital and Charitable Aid Board as at the appointed date shall become the property, contracts, debts, and liabilities respectively of the several Boards of the new hospital districts to be constituted as aforesaid, and such Order in Council shall have effect according to its tenor.
