An Act to repeal certain Enactments and to amend and continue the Operation of certain Expiring Enactments.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Statutes Repeal and Expiring Laws Continuance Act, 1921 (No. 2).
2 Duration of certain expiring enactments extended.
(1.)
The enactments mentioned in the First Schedule hereto shall continue in force until the twenty-eighth day of February, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, and shall then expire unless further continued.
(2.)
Section eighteen of the War Legislation and Statute Law Amendment Act, 1918, is hereby amended by omitting from subsection one the words “subdivision of this Act,”
and substituting the word “section.”
(3.)
The said section eighteen, as amended by section eight of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1920, shall continue in force until the twenty-eighth day of February, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, and shall then expire unless further continued.
(4.)
Section twenty of the Finance Act, 1918, as amended by section four of the Statutes Repeal and Expiring Laws Continuance Act, 1921, is hereby further amended by adding to subsection two the following proviso:—
“Provided that where the rate of interest payable on any such loan pursuant to the terms thereof is less than six per centum per annum the rate of interest payable after the thirty-first day of December, nineteen hundred and twenty-one, shall be six per centum per annum.”
3 Repeals.
(1.)
The enactments mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby repealed.
Saving.
(2.)
All Orders in Council made under the authority of section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Act, 1914, and in force at the commencement of this Act, shall, notwithstanding the repeal of the said Act, continue in force as if they had been made pursuant to the provisions of the Board of Trade Act, 1919, for the establishment of fixed or maximum or minimum prices or rates.
