An Act to amend the Victoria College Act, 1905.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Victoria College Amendment Act, 1923, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Victoria College Act, 1905 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Election of Chairman of Council.
(1.)
At its first meeting held in the month of July in each year the Council shall elect one of its members to be Chairman.
(2.)
This section is in substitution for section fifteen of the principal Act, and that section is hereby accordingly repealed.
3 Section 33 of principal Act amended.
Section thirty-three of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting all the words after the words “the Council prescribes.”
4 Section 43 of principal Act amended.
(1.)
Section forty-three of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the words “the thirty-first day of March,”
and substituting the words “the thirty-first day of December.”
(2.)
The first statement of accounts under section forty-three of the principal Act to be prepared by the Council after the passing of this Act shall be for the period of nine months ending on the thirty-first day of December, nineteen hundred and twenty-three.
