This Act may be cited as the Lights on Vehicles Amendment Act, 1926, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Lights on Vehicles Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

The principal Act shall have no application in respect of motor-vehicles if and so long as they are subject to any regulations as to lighting made pursuant to the powers in that behalf conferred on the Governor-General by the Motor-vehicles Act, 1924.

Every bicycle, tricycle, or other similar machine (not being a motor-vehicle within the meaning of the Motor-vehicles Act, 1924) shall be equipped with a suitable reflector, so placed as to show clearly to the rear of the machine a bright red reflection of any following light which falls on the machine.

Every person who is in charge of any such machine not so equipped at a time when it is required by the principal Act to carry a light commits an offence, and is liable to a fine of one pound.
