This Act may be cited as the Engineers Registration Amendment Act, 1928, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Engineers Registration Act, 1924 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

In addition to the classes of persons entitled to be registered as engineers under the principal Act any person may on payment of the prescribed fee be registered as an engineer who, being registered at the date of the passing of the principal Act as a licensed surveyor under the Surveyors’ Institute and Board of Examiners Act, 1908, satisfies the Board that he had prior to the coming into operation of the principal Act substantial practical experience in engineering as part of his practice or employment, whether on his own account or otherwise howsoever, and who makes application for registration within six months after the passing of this Act.

Any applicant for registration under this section shall in the event of his application being declined by the Board have a right of appeal in accordance with the provisions of section twelve of the principal Act.
