An Act to amend the Orchard-tax Act, 1927.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Orchard-tax Amendment Act, 1933, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Orchard-tax Act, 1927 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Limiting incidence of special orchard-tax levied for fireblight protective purposes.
Section four of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding to subsection three the words “and planted with apple-trees, pear-trees, or quince-trees”
.
3 Members of Fireblight Committee may receive remuneration for services.

Section eight of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding to subsection two the following proviso:—
“Provided that out of the moneys aforesaid there may be paid to members of the committee such fees or allowances in respect of their services as the committee may, by resolution, in accordance with regulations under tins Act, from time to time determine.”
(2)
Section nine of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding to paragraph (c) the following words: “and prescribing the maximum rates of fees or allowances that may be paid to the members of any such committee in respect of their services as such”
.
