An Act to amend the Dairy Industry Act, 1908.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Dairy Industry Amendment Act, 1938, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Dairy Industry Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Power to make regulations providing for farm-dairy instruction and inspection. Ibid., pp. 78, 96
Without limiting the general powers to make regulations conferred by section twenty-three of the principal Act and section eight of the Dairy Industry Amendment Act, 1922, it is hereby declared that regulations may be made under the said section twenty-three for all or any of the following purposes:—
(a)
Providing for farm-dairy instruction and inspection for the purpose of improving and maintaining the quality of milk and cream supplied for the manufacture of dairy-produce; and imposing levies on persons carrying on the manufacture of dairy-produce, or on any class of such persons, for the purpose of defraying the cost of such instruction and inspection, or any part thereof:
(b)
Providing for the exemption, either wholly or partially, and either absolutely or conditionally, of any person or class of persons from any of the requirements of any regulations made for any of the purposes specified in the last preceding paragraph.
