The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the District Courts Amendment Act 2007.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Amendments to District Courts Act 1947
This Act amends the District Courts Act 1947.
4 Tenure of office
Section 7(2) is amended by omitting “68”
and substituting “70”
.
5 Acting Judges
Section 10(2) is amended by omitting “68”
and substituting “70”
.
6 Retired Judges
Section 10A(1) is amended by omitting “68”
and substituting “70”
.
7 Tenure of office
Section 11F(1) is amended by omitting “68”
and substituting “70”
.
8 Retired Community Magistrates
Section 11H(1) is amended by omitting “68”
and substituting “70”
.
