District Courts Act Commencement Order 1948

Note

These regulations are administered in the Department of Justice.

  • Preamble

    WHEREAS by subsection two of section one of the District Courts Act 1947, it is provided that that Act shall come into force on a date to be appointed for the commencement thereof by the Governor-General by Proclamation:

    Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as follows:—

  • This Proclamation may be cited as the District Courts Act Commencement Order 1948.

  • The District Courts Act 1947, shall come into force on the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine.

Issued under the authority of the Regulations Act 1936.

Date of notification in Gazette: 16th day of December, 1948.
