Cook Islands Amendment Act 1952: repealed, on 20 September 2007, by section 7(1) of the Cook Islands Amendment Act 2007 (2007 No 49).

An Act to amend the Cook Islands Act 1915
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Cook Islands Amendment Act 1952, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Cook Islands Act 1915 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

Section 2 was repealed, as from 1 April 1957, by section 96(1) Cook Islands Amendment Act 1957 (1957 No 103). See regulation 2(b) Cook Islands Amendment Act Commencement Order 1959 (SR 1959/62).

5 Incorporated Societies Act in force in Cook Islands

(1) The Incorporated Societies Act 1908 shall be in force in the Cook Islands.
(2) In that Act the term New Zealand shall, both in New Zealand and in the Cook Islands, be construed as including the Cook Islands.
(3) Offences punishable on summary conviction under that Act shall, if committed in the Cook Islands, be punishable by the High Court of the Cook Islands in the ordinary course of its criminal jurisdiction.
6 Carriers Act in force in Cook Islands

(1) The Carriers Act 1948, except subsection (2) of section 3, shall be in force in the Cook Islands.
(2) In that Act the term New Zealand shall be construed as including the Cook Islands:
Provided that nothing in that Act shall apply with respect to any contract for the carriage of any person or any goods between New Zealand and the Cook Islands.
7 Vesting Island of Nassau in Natives of Pukapuka

Whereas the Island of Nassau is Crown land within the meaning of the principal Act: And whereas the Native inhabitants of the Island of Pukapuka have purchased the said Island of Nassau from Her Majesty the Queen for the sum of $4,000: Be it therefore enacted as follows:
Notwithstanding anything in the principal Act, the Island of Nassau (excepting an area of 10 acres to be retained for administration purposes and to be hereafter defined by the Land Court) is hereby vested in the Native inhabitants of the Island of Pukapuka, and is hereby declared to be customary land within the meaning of the principal Act, to be held by the Native inhabitants of the Island of Pukapuka and their descendants according to the Native customs and usages of the Island of Pukapuka.
The words
“the Land Court”
were substituted, as from 4 August 1965, for the words“the Native Land Court”
pursuant to section 57(4) Cook Islands Amendment Act 1964 (1964 No 70). See regulation 2 Cook Islands Constitution Act Commencement Order 1965 (SR 1965/128).
