Wildlife Order 1986: revoked, on 8 July 2010, by clause 4 of the Wildlife Order 2010 (SR 2010/159).

This order is administered in the Department of Internal Affairs.
Pursuant to sections 7B and 8 of the Wildlife Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

Order
1 Title and commencement
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Wildlife Order 1986.
(2) This order shall come into force on the 14th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
2 Application
This order shall have effect throughout New Zealand.
3 Wildlife declared to be game
It is hereby declared that red-legged partridge (Alectoris rufa rufa) shall be included in Schedule 1 to the Wildlife Act 1953, and that Schedule shall hereafter be read accordingly.
4 Partially protected wildlife
It is hereby declared that the harrier hawk (Circus approximans) and the black shag (Phalacrocorax carbo) shall cease to be included in Schedule 5 to the Wildlife Act 1953 and shall be included in Schedule 2 to that Act, and those Schedules shall hereafter be read accordingly.
5 Wildlife not protected
It is hereby declared that the feral goose of the genus Anser shall be included in Schedule 5 to the Wildlife Act 1953, in the part of that Schedule relating to birds, and that Schedule shall hereafter be read accordingly.
6 Terrestrial and freshwater invertebrates declared to be animals
It is hereby declared that Paryphanta busbyi busbyi [commonly known as the Kauri snail] shall be included in Schedule 7 to the Wildlife Act 1953, in the part of that Schedule relating to mollusca, and that Schedule shall hereafter be read accordingly.
