This order is administered in the Department of Internal Affairs.
PURSUANT to the Wildlife Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
1 Title and commencement
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Wildlife Order (No 2) 1970.
(2) This order shall come into force on the seventh day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
2 Application
This order shall have effect throughout New Zealand.
3 Unprotected wildlife
It is hereby declared that the guinea fowl (Numida) shall cease to be included in Schedule 1 to the Wildlife Act 1953 and shall be included in Schedule 5 to that Act, and those Schedules shall hereafter be read accordingly.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
The effect of this order is that the guinea fowl is transferred from the Schedule 1 to Schedule 5, and will therefore be unprotected.
Issued under the authority of the Regulations Act 1936.
