This Act may be cited as the Health Amendment Act 1954, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Health Act 1920 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

Section ninety-one of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding to paragraph (a) of subsection one the words “and provide facilities for carrying out in the mortuaries post mortem examinations authorized under the Coroners Act 1951 or under any other enactment”.

The First Schedule to the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from Part I the words “Scarlet fever (scarlatina)”.

The Third Schedule to the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the words “Storage, drying, or preserving of bones, hides, hoofs, and skins”, and substituting the words “Storage, drying, or preserving of bones, hides, hoofs, or skins”.
