An Act to amend the Bankruptcy Act 1908.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Bankruptcy Amendment Act 1955, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Bankruptcy Act 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Failure to comply with Part V of principal Act.
The principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after section one hundred and forty-two, the following section:
“142a
Without limiting the provisions of section one hundred and fifty-five of this Act, every person commits an offence against this Act who fails to comply in any respect with any of the provisions of Part V of this Act or does any act in contravention of that Part, and is liable on summary conviction before a Magistrate to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month or to a fine not exceeding fifty pounds.”
