The Right Hon John Key presiding in Council
Pursuant to sections 2(3) and 3(a) of the Health Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
Order
1 Title
This order is the Infectious and Notifiable Diseases Order 2013.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 Schedule 1 of Health Act 1956 amended
-
(1) This clause amends the Health Act 1956.
(2) In Schedule 1, Part 1, section B, insert in its appropriate alphabetical order
“Middle East Respiratory Syndrome”
.(3) In Schedule 1, Part 3, after item 5, insert:
“6 Middle East Respiratory Syndrome”.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order amends Parts 1 and 3 of Schedule 1 of the Health Act 1956. It comes into force on the day after notification in the Gazette.
The amendments add Middle East Respiratory Syndrome—
Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.
Date of notification in Gazette: 5 September 2013.
This order is administered by the Ministry of Health.
