An Act to amend the Summary Proceedings Act 1957

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title and commencement

  • (1) This Act may be cited as the Summary Proceedings Amendment Act 1999, and is part of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957 (the principal Act).

    (2) This Act comes into force on the 28th day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

2 Certain informations to disclose range of penalties

  • (1) This subsection inserted s 17A in the principal Act.

    (2) The principal Act applies to proceedings commenced before the commencement of this section, as if subsection (1) had not been enacted.

3 Application of provisions of Part 2

  • This section inserted s 146(ca) in the principal Act.
