An Act to amend the Cemeteries Act 1908
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Cemeteries Amendment Act 1959, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Cemeteries Act 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Audit of accounts of Trustees
Section forty-three of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding the following proviso:
“Provided that, where the Minister considers that owing to the lack of transactions in the statement of accounts it is unnecessary that the statement be examined and audited under this section, he may, on the joint recommendation of the Audit Office and the Director-General of Health, dispense with the examination and audit of the statement of accounts, subject to such conditions (if any) as he thinks fit. The Minister may at any time revoke any such dispensation or amend the conditions on which any such dispensation has been granted.”
