An Act to amend the Health Act 1956
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Health Amendment Act 1959, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Health Act 1956 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Renewal of registration of chemical works
Section fifty-four of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding to subsection five the following proviso:
“Provided that no local authority shall renew the registration of any premises for the carrying on of any chemical works without receiving the prior consent in writing of the Medical Officer of Health, who may require that such conditions as he thinks fit be imposed, and the local authority shall not renew the registration of the premises without imposing those conditions.”
