An Act to amend the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Act 1921

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Amendment Act 1959, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Act 1921 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Interpretation

(1)

Section two of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, in their appropriate alphabetical order, the following definitions:

“‘Governor’, in relation to any country or territory, includes any Minister or Administrator or officer of the Government of that country or territory to whom it may be appropriate to transmit under this Act a maintenance order or an order varying or rescinding a maintenance order:

“‘His Majesty’s dominions’ means the British Commonwealth of Nations; and includes every territory for whose international relations the government of any country which is a member of the British Commonwealth of Nations is responsible; and also includes the Republic of Ireland as if it were a member of the British Commonwealth of Nations:”.

The Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Amendment Act 1928 is hereby consequentially repealed.
