An Act to amend the Mental Health Act 1911
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Mental Health Amendment Act 1959, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Mental Health Act 1911 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Application for reception order in certain cases
Section thirty-eight of the principal Act, as substituted by section nine of the Mental Health Amendment Act 1957, is hereby amended by adding to subsection four the following additional proviso:
“Provided also that the provisions of paragraph (c) of subsection two of section four of this Act shall not apply to any application for a reception order pursuant to subsection three of this section.”
