An Act to amend the Acts Interpretation Act 1924
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Acts Interpretation Amendment Act 1960, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Acts Interpretation Act 1924 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Savings
The principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after section 20, the following section:
“20a
Without limiting any other provision of this Act, it is hereby declared that the repeal or revocation of any provision by any Act, Order in Council, notice, regulations, or rules shall not affect any document made or any thing whatsoever done under the provision so repealed or revoked or under any corresponding former provision, and every such document or thing, so far as it is subsisting or in force at the time of the repeal or revocation and could have been made or done under that Act, Order in Council, or notice, or under those regulations or rules, shall continue and have effect as if it had been made or done under the corresponding provision of that Act, Order in Council, or notice, or of those regulations or rules, and as if that provision had been in force when the document was made or the thing was done.”
