An Act to amend the Married Women’s Property Act 1952
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Married Women’s Property Amendment Act 1961, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Married Women’s Property Act 1952 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Disputes between husband and wife as to property to be decided in a summary way
Section 19 of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding the following subsection:
“(4)
For the purposes of this section the words ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ include the legal personal representatives of the husband or wife.”
This Act is administered in the Department of Justice.
