An Act to amend the Veterinary Services Act 1946
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Veterinary Services Amendment Act 1962, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Veterinary Services Act 1946 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.)
2 Veterinary Services Sickness or Disability Scheme
Section 12 of the principal Act (as amended by subsection (1) of section 2 of the Veterinary Services Amendment Act 1954) is hereby further amended by omitting from paragraph (cc) of subsection (2) the words “for veterinary surgeons employed by veterinary clubs in cases of sickness or disability”
, and substituting the words “in cases of sickness or disability, for veterinary surgeons employed by farmers’ veterinary clubs and other like bodies and for veterinary surgeons employed by the Council”
.
3 Council may insure members
The principal Act is hereby further amended by inserting, after section 28, the following section:
“28a.
The Council may from time to time enter into contracts of insurance insuring members of the Council against loss from personal accident arising out of and in the course of the exercise of their powers and duties as members, and may pay from its funds the premiums payable in respect of any such contracts.”
This Act is administered in the Department of Agriculture.
