An Act to amend the Auckland Harbour Bridge Act 1950
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Auckland Harbour Bridge Amendment Act 1962, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Act 1950 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Provision for expenditure of funds on investigation of alternative crossing
The principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after section 37, the following section:
“37a.
It shall be lawful for the Authority from time to time to expend funds in obtaining and providing such information as may be requested by the Auckland Regional Planning Authority for the purposes of any comprehensive transportation survey carried out on behalf of that Planning Authority.”
3 Provision with respect to control of Victoria Park viaduct
The principal Act is hereby further amended by inserting, after section 64, the following section:
“64a.
For the purposes of section 36a and of this Part of this Act, the viaduct constructed across Victoria Park from Union Street to Fanshawe Street shall be deemed to be part of the bridge.”
This Act is administered in the Ministry of Works.
