An Act to amend the Carriers Act 1948

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Carriers Amendment Act 1962, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Carriers Act 1948 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Limit of liability for goods unless value declared and increased charge paid

Section 6 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting in paragraph (a) of subsection (1), after the word “recover”, the words “from the carrier or any servant or employee or agent of the carrier”.

This Act is administered in the Department of Justice.
