An Act to amend the Fire Services Act 1949
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Fire Services Amendment Act 1962, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Fire Services Act 1949 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on the first day of February, nineteen hundred and sixty-three.
2 Members of Fire Service Council
(1)
Section 4 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from paragraph (a) of subsection (1) the words “Two persons”
, and substituting the words “One person”
.
(2)
Section 4 of the principal Act is hereby further amended by inserting in subsection (1), after paragraph (c), the following paragraph:
“(cc)
One person appointed by the New Zealand Counties Association Incorporated:”.
This Act is administered in the Department of Internal Affairs.
