An Act to amend the Local Elections and Polls Act 1953
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act 1962, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Local Elections and Polls Act 1953 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Employees to have time off to vote
Section 92 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from subsection (1) the words “the thirty-first day of October, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, and on the third Saturday in November in every third year thereafter”
, and substituting the words “the day specified in subsection (1) of section 4 of this Act”
.
