An Act to amend the Local Authorities (Members’ Contracts) Act 1954

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Local Authorities (Members’ Contracts) Amendment Act 1962, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Local Authorities (Members’ Contracts) Act 1954 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Amount of disqualifying contracts

Section 3 of the principal Act is hereby amended—

(a)

By omitting the words “two hundred pounds in the case of any contract or five hundred pounds altogether”, and substituting the words “five hundred pounds in the case of any contract or one thousand pounds altogether”:

(b)

By omitting from paragraph (a) of the proviso the words “not exceeding in the aggregate one thousand five hundred pounds in any financial year in respect of all such contracts in which that person is so concerned or interested”.
