An Act to amend the Marginal Lands Act 1950
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Marginal Lands Amendment Act 1962, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Marginal Lands Act 1950 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Marginal Lands Panel
Section 5 of the principal Act is hereby amended—
(a)
By omitting from subsection (1) the words “not more than five”
:
(b)
By omitting from subsection (2) the words “but at no time shall the Panel consist of more than five persons”
.
3 Functions and powers of Board
(1)
Section 12 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after subsection (2), the following subsection:
“(2a)
In the exercise of its functions under this Act, the Board may make advances or readvances on current account or otherwise to any applicant approved by the Board for the purchase by the applicant of any pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence under the Land Act 1948 or any former Land Act of land that is marginal land.”
(2)
Section 12 of the principal Act is hereby further amended by omitting from subsection (3) the words “subsection two of”
.
This Act is administered in the Department of Lands and Survey.
