An Act to amend the Summary Proceedings Act 1957

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Summary Proceedings Amendment Act 1963, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Notice to witnesses to attend at Supreme Court

Section 181 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from subsection (1) the words “at the time and place specified in the notice”, and substituting the words “in accordance with the terms of the notice”.

3 When deposition may be read in evidence

Section 184 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from subsection (1) the words “in any other case”, and substituting the words “in any case”.
