An Act to amend the Chattels Transfer Act 1924

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Chattels Transfer Amendment Act 1963, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Chattels Transfer Act 1924 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Amendments consequential on the passing of the Chattels Transfer Amendment Act 1953

(1)

Section 2 of the Chattels Transfer Amendment Act 1931 is hereby amended—

(a)

By inserting in paragraph (c) of subsection (3), after the word “instrument”, the words “or of the chattels the subject of any such agreement or instrument”:

(b)

By adding to subsection (8) the words “or of any chattels the subject of such an agreement”.

(2)

The amendments made by subsection (1) of this section shall have effect as if they were amendments to the principal Act made by section 3 of the Chattels Transfer Amendment Act 1953, and subsection (2) of that section shall apply accordingly.
