PURSUANT to section 2(1) of the Housing Restructuring (Income-Related Rents) Amendment Act 2000, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
1 Title
This order is the Housing Restructuring (Income-Related Rents) Amendment Act Commencement Order 2000.
2 Day appointed for commencement of certain provisions
Subsections (1), (2), and (4) to (7) of section 7 of the Housing Restructuring (Income-Related Rents) Amendment Act 2000 come into force on 17 November 2000.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order provides for subsections (1), (2), and (4) to (7) of section 7 of the Housing Restructuring (Income-Related Rents) Amendment Act 2000 to come into force on 17 November 2000; and has the effect that from that day, as new rent periods begin,—
•those tenants of Housing New Zealand Limited who qualify to pay an income-related rent under Part 5 of the Housing Restructuring Act 1992 will be able to do so:
•certain forms of accommodation assistance under the Social Security Act 1964 and the Student Allowances Regulations 1998 will cease to be available to tenants of Housing New Zealand Limited.
