An Act to amend the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1951

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Births and Deaths Registration Amendment Act 1964, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1951 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Computation of time within which particulars of death to be given

The principal Act is hereby amended by adding to section 30, and also to section 31, and also to section 32, the following proviso:

“Provided that no day on which the office of the Registrar is not open shall be included in the computation of the said period of three days.”

This Act is administered in the Department of Justice.
