An Act to amend the Child Welfare Act 1925

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title and commencement

(1)

This Act may be cited as the Child Welfare Amendment Act 1964, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Child Welfare Act 1925 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

(2)

This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the twenty-sixth day of September, nineteen hundred and fifty-eight.

2 Child care centres

(1)

Section 45a of the principal Act (as inserted by section 2 of the Child Welfare Amendment Act 1958) is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (f) of subsection (2), and substituting the following paragraph:

“(f)

Confer rights of appeal against any decision or determination made or any requirement or condition imposed under regulations made pursuant to this section:”.

(2)

Nothing in this section shall affect the rights of any parties under any order made by any Court before the passing of this Act.

This Act is administered in the Department of Education.
