An Act to amend the Department of Agriculture Act 1953

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Department of Agriculture Amendment Act 1964, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Powers of Director-General

Section 8 of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding, as subsection (2), the following subsection:

“(2)

The Director-General shall have full power and authority to exercise and perform any power or function which is conferred on the Director of any Division of the Department by any enactment of which the Department or the Director-General is charged with the administration by this Act or any other enactment.”

This Act is administered in the Department of Agriculture.
