An Act to amend the Taupo County Act 1962
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Taupo County Amendment Act 1965, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Taupo County Act 1962 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Principal Act extended
(1)
The principal Act is hereby amended—
(a)
By omitting from subsection (1) of section 4 the words “ninth day of October”
, and substituting the words “thirtieth day of November”
:
(b)
By omitting from section 10 the words “ninth day of October”
, and substituting the words “thirtieth day of November”
.
(2)
On the application of the Taupo County Council elected at the general election held on the ninth day of October, nineteen hundred and sixty-five, made to the Minister of Internal Affairs not later than the fifteenth day of November, nineteen hundred and sixty-five, the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, further extend the duration of the principal Act to a date specified in the order, being not later than the thirtieth day of November, nineteen hundred and sixty-six, and in that case the principal Act (as amended by subsection (1) of this section) shall have effect as if it had been further amended by omitting from subsection (1) of section 4 and also from section 10 the words “thirtieth day of November, nineteen hundred and sixty-five”
, and substituting in each case the date so specified.
This Act is administered in the Department of Internal Affairs.
