An Act to amend the Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1963
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Matrimonial Proceedings Amendment Act 1966, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1963 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Appointment of medical inspectors on petition for dissolution of voidable marriage
The principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after section 70, the following section:
“70A
Where a petition for dissolution of a voidable marriage has been filed, the Court may, if it thinks fit, appoint one or more registered medical practitioners to examine the parties or either of them and report to the Court thereon. In any such case the Court may give such directions in the matter as it considers necessary or expedient.”
This Act is administered in the Department of Justice.
