An Act to amend the University of Waikato Act 1963
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the University of Waikato Amendment Act 1966, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the University of Waikato Act 1963 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Constitution of Council
Section 6 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting in subsection (3), after the words “each school”
, the words “having fewer than one hundred pupils shall have one vote, and the governing body of each other school”
.
3 Employees as Council members
Section 9 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from the second proviso to subsection (1) the words “four hundred pounds”
, and substituting the words “seven hundred and fifty pounds”
.
4 Election of Council members
Section 13 of the principal Act is hereby amended, as from its commencement, by inserting in subsection (2), after the words “shall be conducted”
, the words “and determined”
.
This Act is administered in the Department of Education.
