An Act to amend the Valuation of Land Act 1951

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Valuation of Land Amendment Act 1968, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Valuation of Land Act 1951 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Revision of district valuation rolls

(1)

Section 9 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from subsection (1) the words “the Governor-General in Council from time to time directs”, and substituting the words “the Valuer-General from time to time determines”.

(2)

Section 10 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing the proviso to subsection (2), and substituting the following proviso:

“Provided that in respect of any revision required by this section to be made, the Valuer-General, if in his opinion it is impracticable or undesirable to make that revision, may determine that the revision shall be postponed until such date as he thinks fit; and in any such case that revision shall be made as at a date not later than the date so determined.”

This Act is administered in the Valuation Department.
