An Act to amend the Apprentices Act 1948
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Apprentices Amendment Act 1968, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Apprentices Act 1948 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on the date of the commencement of the Insolvency Act 1967.
2 Protection of apprentice in case of redundancy
(1)
Section 37 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from subsection (1) the words “paragraph (d) of section one hundred and twenty of the Bankruptcy Act 1908”
, and substituting the words “paragraph (d) of subsection (1) of section 104 of the Insolvency Act 1967”
.
(2)
The said section 37 is hereby further amended by omitting from subsection (2) the words “subsection two of section eighty-three of the Bankruptcy Act 1908”
, and substituting the words “subsection (2) of section 83 of the Insolvency Act 1967”
.
