An Act to amend the Medical and Dental Auxiliaries Act 1966
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Medical and Dental Auxiliaries Amendment Act 1968, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Medical and Dental Auxiliaries Act 1966 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Act not to derogate from certain other Acts
Section 39 of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding as subsection (2), the following subsection:
“(2)
Regulations made under this Act, and the provisions of section 32 of this Act, shall not be deemed to affect or derogate from any such enactment by reason only that they prohibit or restrict the performance of work or the engaging in a registrable occupation by any body corporate which, or other person who, is not restricted by that enactment from performing that work or engaging in that occupation.”
3 Regulations
Section 40 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting in subsection (1), after paragraph (r), the following paragraph:
“(rr)
Providing for appeals against any decision of a Board pursuant to any regulation under this Act and conferring on an Appeal Tribunal constituted under section 35 of this Act jurisdiction to hear and determine any such appeal or making other provision for the hearing and determination of any such appeal:”.
This Act is administered in the Department of Health.
