An Act to amend the Control of Prices Act 1947
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Control of Prices Amendment Act 1969, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Control of Prices Act 1947 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Exemption of goods from price control
Section 18 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting in paragraph (c) of subsection (2), before the words “No price order”
, the words “Except with the authority of the Minister”
.
3 Validation
All price orders which have been made and all special approvals which have been given before the commencement of this section and which relate to goods that are or have been listed in any notice published by the Minister under subsection (1) of section 18 of the principal Act are hereby declared to be valid, and to have always been valid; and the goods listed in any such notice before the commencement of this section shall be deemed to be or to have been, as the case may require, subject to the price order or to the special approval relating to them notwithstanding that the price order may have been made or the special approval given subsequent to the notice, or that the price order or special approval may relate to goods deemed to be exempted from Part III of the principal Act.
This Act is administered in the Department of Industries and Commerce.
