An Act to amend the Boilers, Lifts, and Cranes Act 1950

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Boilers, Lifts, and Cranes Amendment Act (No. 2) 1969, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Boilers, Lifts, and Cranes Act 1950 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 General penalty

(1)

Section 55 of the principal Act (as amended by section 7(1) of the Decimal Currency Act 1964 and section 11 of the Boilers, Lifts, and Cranes Amendment Act 1969) is hereby repealed, and the following section substituted:

“55

“(1)

Every person who fails to comply with any requirement, obligation, or provision imposed or required to be observed by this Act commits an offence.

“(2)

Except where otherwise expressly provided by this Act, every person who commits an offence against this Act shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $1,000.”

(2)

Section 11 of the Boilers, Lifts, and Cranes Amendment Act 1969 is hereby repealed.

(3)

This section shall come into force on the 1st day of January 1970.
