An Act to amend the Chattels Transfer Act 1924
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Chattels Transfer Amendment Act 1969, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Chattels Transfer Act 1924 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Mode of registration
(1)
Section 5 of the principal Act (as amended by section 3(1) of the Chattels Transfer Amendment Act 1925) is hereby further amended by adding the following proviso:
“Provided further that for the purpose of registration that part of New Zealand which is for the time being included in the Judicial District of Westland shall be deemed to be a separate provincial district.”
(2)
This section shall come into force on a date to be appointed for the commencement thereof by the Governor-General by Order in Council.
3 Abolition of reputed ownership
(1)
The principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection (2) of section 18 and subsection (4) of section 57.
(2)
This section shall come into force on the date appointed for the commencement of the Insolvency Act 1967.
This Act is administered in the Department of Justice.
