Analysis
An Act to amend the Gaming Act 1908
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Gaming Amendment Act 1970, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Gaming Act 1908.
(2)
This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 31st day of October 1970.
2 Levy on totalisator investments to provide for public improvements and amenities on racecourses
(1)
Section 5d of the Gaming Amendment Act 1949 (as inserted by section 8 of the Gaming Amendment Act 1953 and amended by section 2 of the Gaming Amendment Act 1965) is hereby further amended by omitting from subsection (1) the words “first day of November, nineteen hundred and seventy”
, and substituting the words “1st day of November 1972”
.
(2)
The Gaming Amendment Act 1965 is hereby consequentially repealed.
This Act is administered in the Department of Internal Affairs.
