An Act to amend the Licensing Trusts Act 1949
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Licensing Trusts Amendment Act 1971, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Licensing Trusts Act 1949 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Remuneration of Chairman and members
(1)
Section 8 of the principal Act (as substituted by section 2(1) of the Licensing Trusts Amendment Act 1969) is hereby amended—
(a)
By omitting from paragraph (a) of subsection (1) the expression “$900”
, and substituting the expression “$1,100”
:
(b)
By omitting from paragraph (b) of the said subsection the expression “$700”
, and substituting the expression “$850”
.
(2)
Notwithstanding anything in subsection (2) of the said section 8, the remuneration of the Chairman who is in office at the date of the passing of this Act may, by resolution of the Trust passed within 6 months after that date, be increased once during his term of office.
(3)
Section 8a of the principal Act (as inserted by section 3 of the Licensing Trusts Amendment Act 1962 and amended by section 7(1) of the Decimal Currency Act 1964) is hereby further amended—
(a)
By omitting the words “the rate of $3”
, and substituting the words “a rate fixed by the Trust not exceeding $5”
:
(b)
By omitting from the proviso the expression “$156”
, and substituting the expression “$260”
.
(4)
Subsection (3) of this section shall be deemed to have come into force on the 27th day of November 1970.
3 Expenditure in connection with annual conference of Licensing Trusts Association
Section 38b of the principal Act (as enacted by section 8 of the Licensing Trusts Amendment Act 1961 and amended by section 7(1) of the Decimal Currency Act 1964) is hereby further amended by omitting the words “the sum of $600”
, and substituting the words “such sum as may from time to time be fixed by the Minister of Finance”
.
