An Act to amend the National Library Act 1965

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the National Library Amendment Act 1971, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the National Library Act 1965 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Functions and powers of Trustees

Subsection (2) of section 13 of the principal Act is hereby amended—

(a)

By inserting, after the words “The Trustees may”, the words “promote and”:

(b)

By omitting from paragraph (c) the word “and”, and substituting the word “by”.

3 Insurance

Section 18 of the principal Act is hereby amended—

(a)

By inserting, after the words “section 9 of this Act”, the words “and members of special committees appointed under section 14 of this Act”:

(b)

By inserting, after the words “as such trustees”, the words “or members”.
