An Act to amend the Construction Act 1959
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Construction Amendment Act 1971, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Construction Act 1959 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Safety of mechanical plant
Section 14 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from paragraph (d) the words “or left in charge of any person except a person”
, and substituting the words “by any person except under the supervision of a person”
.
3 General penalty
Section 24 of the principal Act (as substituted by section 3 of the Construction Amendment Act 1967) is hereby amended by omitting the words “five hundred dollars”
, and substituting the expression “$1,000”
.
This Act is administered in the Department of Labour.
