An Act to amend the Copyright Act 1962
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Copyright Amendment Act 1971, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Copyright Act 1962 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of May 1972.
2 Delivery of copies of books
(1)
Section 64 of the principal Act is hereby amended
(a)
By omitting from subsection (1) the words “two copies of the book to the Librarian of the General Assembly Library, who shall give a written receipt for them”
, and substituting the words “to the Chief Librarian of the General Assembly Library, on behalf of the National Librarian, 3 copies of the book, or such lesser number of copies as the National Librarian may specify. The Chief Librarian of the General Assembly Library shall give a written receipt for them”

By repealing subsection (2):
(c)
By omitting from subsection (3) and also from subsection (4) the words “subsections (1) and (2)”
, and substituting in each case the expression “subsection (1)”

By inserting in paragraph (a) of the definition of the term “book”
in subsection (7), after the word “chart”
, the words “art print”
.
